MAMA, MAMA, MAMA

One of the first things my 17-month-old does when she wakes up in the morning is call out for me. She might still be laying in her crib and just playing with her toes. But she always calls out for me as soon as she wakes up. Mama, Mama, Mama. It always makes me giggle a little bit, and (as tired as I might be some days) it is always my joy to go into her room in the morning and respond to her call with a Good morning, my baby. I love you~ I crouch on the floor next to her crib and smile. I love that she stands in her crib just looking back at me and “talking” to me about whatever she wants. When she’s done, she usually stretches her arms toward me and says “up” so that I can whisk her away and just snuggle for a little bit before we enjoy the rest of the day together.

Imagine how different your life would be if you woke up calling out for Jesus as soon as you woke up. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Imagine God giggling and joyfully coming to you and greeting you with a Good morning, my child. I love you~ He crouches down to your level to look you in the eyes and hear all that you have to say, just waiting to spend some time wrapping you in His arms as you start your day with Him.

I’ve been challenged to try and do this every morning with Jesus, and it has completely changed my life in the most incredible of ways. But on the days when I forget, I get the sweetest reminder from my own child every morning as she cries out: Mama, Mama, Mama.
